Basic Function and Description:

Join the dedicated group of volunteers who help organize our clothing room, a special resource for all veterans enrolled in our programs. The U.S.VETS Clothing Room is filled with clothing, accessories, and supplies provided by in-kind donations. Veterans receive vouchers to 'shop’ in the clothing room to meet their needs. The Clothing Room Assistant will be responsible for sorting clothes, pair outfits, inventory items, and keep the closet organized and tidy for veterans to shop.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet and thank veterans
• Assist veterans with questions
• Receive clothing vouchers
• Distribute clothing items and other supplies as needed
• Hang and organize clothing and linens
• Organize and shelve new merchandise (donations)
• Light cleaning (sweeping, dusting, laundry of donations, etc.)
• Create inventory of available items
• Count donations for proper in-kind donation receipt

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Willingness to 'jump right in’ to organize mountains of clothing, coats, and accessories
• Must possess good organizational and communication skills
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Ability to work as an effective team member
• Comfortable sorting donations
• Many tasks involve standing or walking around the store, and some moderate lifting (<30 lbs)
