Are you a great driver who would like to help people live their best lives?
The Get Up & Go Program at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center in Foster City is looking for good drivers who would like to volunteer their time and vehicle to help homebound people get to various places in San Mateo County that they need to go. Sometimes this is medical appointments, but it can be the grocery store, the tax preparer or to other life enhancing engagements. Our goal is to keep people in their homes by helping them get where they need to go. We provide transportation services Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (Holidays Excepted) with home pick ups as early as 9:30 AM and home drop offs as late as 3:30 PM. We usually look for a 3-4 hour commitment in time one day a week. We serve all of San Mateo County with the exception of Coastside. Though we are located in Foster City we have people who need transportation throughout the county. If you would like to learn more or have specific questions please feel free to ask
There is no typical client. But on average our rides are short distances. Our popular service is free of charge to riders. We serve adults 50+ who do not currently drive. Registration is required, but PJCC membership is not necessary and there are no income or religious affiliation requirements.
If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of please click the link and we will get an application out to you.
