At Community Nutrition Network & Senior Services Association/Meals on Wheels, our volunteers are a critical part of our operation. The most common volunteer job is delivering meals and friendly greetings to home-bound seniors. Most typically, this involves picking up meals at a central location and delivering them
along a pre-determined route in communities through-out northern Illinois, including Cook, Kane, Kendall and Grundy counties.
The COVID-19 outbreak has created an immediate, short-term need to get more meals out to more seniors in your area. Delivery generally takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours, including pick-up and drop off of food bags at a central location.

Our vision is to live in an environment where seniors and persons with disabilities are valued and are an active part of our community. We currently serve nearly 600,000 meals a year to over 7,500 seniors and persons with disabilities in Suburban Cook, Kendall & Grundy Counties.

Join us for lunch!
Fight against hunger by giving back to the older adults in your community! The Community Nutrition Network needs your help serving meals at our café sites as well as delivering meals to homebound adults. These opportunities can last anywhere from 1-3 hours and are located at various sites throughout the northern Illinois area.
At The Community Nutrition Network, we strive to keep older adults and persons with disabilities an active part of their community by providing them with the support they need. Much more than a meal, our programs combat depression and isolation, offers companionship, and provides safety checks for homebound adults.
