Humans of Minneapolis (HOM), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, encourages empathy and builds community through storytelling. We are currently seeking a Marketing/Communications Intern to expand our social media presence and get the word out about what we do.
Our work sheds light on marginalized voices and uplifts the storyteller, while providing an opportunity for our audience to hear perspectives that are often ignored or overlooked. Our goal is a culture in Minneapolis (and beyond) that is more compassionate, open-minded, and inclusive.
Reports to: Executive Director
Main responsibilities:
- Create and post social media content to HOM platforms
- Plan marketing calendar
- Maintain consistency of brand and mission
- Contribute to monthly newsletter
- Generate ideas to promote HOM events and activities
Duration:
5-10 hours/week for three months (start date TBD)
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic
- Thinks creatively
- Meets deadlines
- Experience running social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Graphic design/typography knowledge a huge plus
Compensation:
$150/month stipend provided for transportation and/or other incidentals
