Camp Description: Just as the name implies, we will get out, get active and go wild! Make your own bow and arrow, build a survival shelter, start a fire with flint and steel, launch water balloons, with our catapult, play 'capture the flag' in the woods, try your hand at fishing, search for buried treasure and learn about geocaching, raft the Paint Creek, picnic in the park, and prepare for the wildest of our summer camps. We promise your children will sleep like logs this week.
Volunteer Expectations: Volunteers will be actively helping kids play in the woods by building survival shelters, engaging in nerf battles, and looking for critters in the creek. Please bring shoes that can go in the creek!

Description
Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve, Inc. is a nonprofit educational corporation supported by memberships, grants, donations and fund raising projects. The preserve and nature center are very much an integral part of the Rochester community, enjoying the support and volunteer help of Rochester area residents and businesses. Many volunteer hours have been and continue to be spent in developing and maintaining the preserve, teaching of classes, as well as in helping with various fund raising projects. Sixteen acres of wood, meadow and stream, nestled in the midst of one of Rochester Michigan's neighborhoods and only 5 minutes from most shopping and business areas, Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve provides a quiet oasis of natural beauty; the perfect opportunity to take a lunch-hour stroll through an enchanting winter wonderland or along a spring path rioting with color. Before you leave, don't forget to visit Dinosaur Hill's award winning nature center, the perfect setting for displaying nature's bounties and teaching her lessons. In the nature center you will find brochures describing the many programs Dinosaur Hill offers for groups, children, adults and families. Classes are small and are taught by experienced, professional staff.
