Project Hawai’i, Inc. is a non profit organization run 100% by volunteers and solely supported by public donation. Our mission is to help the homeless keiki escape their cycle of poverty and succeed.
Easter may not seem like a big deal or a life changing time in anyone's life, but when a child is born into extreme poverty and is pretty much left out of any holiday, basic life milestone and wondering where there next meal comes from, a delivery of an Easter Basket can change their mindset. Building a self esteem by feeling not left out, or feeling like they matter does go a long way in their hope for a better tomorrow.

We have a few fundraising collection dates set to help make this a reality for hundreds of homeless children across the island. Please consider making a difference and volunteering your 3 hours this month.

Please show up 5 minutes prior to register and we will start orientation on time.

  • Friday April 3rd 2:30-5:30 p.m. in Kapolei (meet at the Safeway Shopping center)
  • Saturdays April 4th & 11th 11:00a-2:00p Pearl City (Manana City Community Park)
  • Sunday April 5th 11:00a-2:00p in Kane'ohe (First Hawaiian Bank in the Windward City Shopping Center)

All volunteers will be doing the same task.

We are holding awareness signs and nets to collect donations from donors.

Please do NOT just drop off random items or donations. We are not equipped to handle various donations.

Want to create YOUR OWN GROUP/CLUB/COMPANY fundraiser for our emergency need fund? We'd love to have you on our team. Here is what YOUR FUNDS would help us with. On a weekly basis we are asked for various items of support, from moms or teens getting new jobs and needing work attire, children being accepted in sports and needing gear, families who find themselves in need of emergency supplies, such as tarp, tent, sleeping bags, clothing, propane, water jugs, etc. While we would love to have these items on hand, we have NO STORAGE for such items and need these items in an emergency, no time to create a separate fundraiser or collection.

As well going into 2020 we are SHORT on meal cards. These are $7 cards for places such as Panda Express, Subway, Taco Bell, etc. Earn ONE hour for 3 cards brought

Description

Project Hawai'i, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers to enhance the lives of children living in poverty situations on the islands of Hawai'i. Our public supported charity works year round to provide necessities to children living in substandard housing situations, such as tents on the waters edge, abandon vehicles, and make-shift structures hidden in the bushes and hills.

Our agency provides children with holiday parties, meals and services for all the major holidays including Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Other monthly services include providing emergency support, hygiene, food, clothing and outreach to the children living in homeless situations on 3 of the islands of Hawai'i, the Big Island (Hawai'i), Mau'i and O'ahu.

Project Hawai'i also provides educational and nutritional programs that include after school reading and tutoring programs and our summer camp activities. Children will also receive full back to school support from new backpacks filled with supplies, new outfits, and shoes. We also provide other educational needs throughout the year.

Project Hawai'i Summer Camp has ran for 15 years and won several dozen awards in nutrition and educational support. This program is our largest endevor and evolves year after to year to include even more learning opportunities to our keiki.
