DOROT's mission is to address social isolation among older adults. Programs serve Manhattan and Westchester. We are looking for Tech Visiting Volunteers in Manhattan. Choose from two options:
1. One-to-One Technology Coaching -- Teach an older adult to use a smartphone (iPhone or Android) to make social connections and access resources. Volunteers make 8 visits during a 12-week period. No need to be a tech expert! Ideal coaches are comfortable with technology and like spending time with older adults. DOROT provides resource guides and training.
2. Quick Tech Visits -- Respond to requests for older adults for help with smartphones, laptops and tablets. You will receive a weekly e-mail with a list of requests. Select the options that work for you. Volunteers commit to 6 visits in 6 months.
Volunteers have a great deal of flexibility to schedule visits with older adults on mutually convenient days and times.
