As a tech volunteer, coach seniors to stay in touch with friends and loved ones, access information and learn skills. The ideal volunteer is patient, comfortable with computers, tablets or smartphones, and enthusiastic about helping older people. DOROT provides training. No special expertise is required.
Volunteers for this program are asked to commit to 1 hour per week of coaching scheduled with the older adult at a mutually convenient time. Most coaching is in person though some remote options are possible.
DOROT is a social services organization dedicated to addressing social isolation. Sign up for a Zoom orientation at www.dorotusa.org/volunteer where you can select a regular orientation or a combined tech training and volunteer orientation session which is a fast track to getting involved.
