The majority of our cat adoptions happen at offsite locations such as Petsmart. The role of the cat transporter is to pick up cats/kittens at the main rescue, ensure all of their records are with them in a file folder, and then transport to the offsite location designated for that animal.
Upon arrival at the offsite location, the cat transporter will place the cat in the appropriate empty kennel and then file the paperwork. The transporter will also fill out a simple cat kennel card that is placed on the outside of the adoption center.
Occasionally, we will need to pull sick cats from these locations and return them to the rescue. The cat transporters are also responsible for doing this.
Hours are totally dependent upon your schedule. We will reach out to all transporters when there is a need and the needs will be filled by the first to respond that they are able to transport.
More Information
This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation. Our organization is 100% volunteer run. We welcome volunteers located anywhere in the world, as long as they can connect reliably to the Internet.
Why Volunteer With Us?
We are a community of people that share a common belief that improving animal welfare, specifically the neonatal kitten/cats with babies in shelters and stray populations, will eventually reduce the need for euthanasia in this population that suffers the highest euthanasia rates in shelters in the United States. We aim to be a leader in the country for this population of animals, that so desperately needs attention paid to them, so that we can become a no kill country. Volunteering with us will enable you to build your resume and gain invaluable experience in an environment of supportive people that are always willing to help you.
In return, you will receive a LinkedIn recommendation, testimonial, spotlight in a newsletter, and/or a professional reference based on commitment and performance.

About Neonatal Kitten Rescue
Location:
211 S Pickens Bridge Road, Johnson City, TN 37615, US
Mission Statement
Our mission is to create a facility that will implement lifesaving programs for neonatal felines. The Neonatal Kitten Rescue will focus on prevention, retention and adoption with innovative, efficient and most importantly, life-focused procedures for the most euthanized group of felines - neonatals.
Description
Every kitten season, thousands of motherless kittens are at risk of death on the streets and in animal shelters. Without a mother to care for them, kittens face impossible odds, and can’t survive without specialized care. Neonatal Kitten Rescue is on a mission to end the killing of neonatal kittens-and to give every kitten a chance at a full life. We are building a safer world for the tiniest felines by rescuing individual orphans in need, providing hands-on care to save their lives, and preparing them for adoption into loving homes. Neonatal Kitten Rescue offers around-the-clock feeding, medical care, and a warm, safe haven to neonatal, injured, and special needs kittens ages 6 weeks and younger.
