Bunny World Foundation is seeking bunny loving volunteers to care for the adoptable rescue bunnies housed in our Petco enclosures! Tasks associated with this job include: Cleaning litter boxes and replacing them with fresh litter and hay, changing out dirty blankets and replacing them with new ones, supplying bunnies with fresh water, greens, and pellets, letting out bunnies for exercise in our playpens, and giving bunnies lots of love and attention!

We typically have each volunteer choose one day a week that they regularly come to care for our bunnies. This job is incredibly rewarding as you will get to provide tender loving care for rabbits who need it most... those who are recovering from abuse, neglect, and abandonment. You will get to slowly develop relationships with these bunnies, and watch them trust you more and more each volunteer session. While caring for the bunnies is so important, what is so special about this volunteer opportunity is the love you get to provide and receive in return.

Mission Statement

BWF Mission & History: Bunny World Foundation (BWF) is an ALL-Volunteer, non-profit 501(c) 3 animal welfare organization founded in 2008 in Los Angeles, California. Set up to promote (Shelter) Equity and Equality for Rabbits, BWF’s mission is to combat animal cruelty, illegal animal sales, exploitation and neglect of all animals, through rescue efforts, public education, investigations, legislation, special events, and media attention.

Description

BWF works to reduce rabbit overpopulation and to establish rabbits as companion animals that deserve the same individual rights, level of care, and opportunity for longevity as cats and dogs that live as human companions. BWF manages a complex Foster & Adoption Program that requires constant strengthening and expansion to accommodate new rescues and provide for their intensive care, medication, supplies, and spay/neuter funds. BWF has 300 volunteers/fosters and rescues over 700 abandoned and abused domestic rabbits a year.
