Mission Statement
The mission of Independence Rides is to provide dignified transportation for seniors and vision impaired adults in the greater Detroit area. These rides are available 24/7, and may be scheduled for any reason. A standard feature of the service is door-through-door and arm-through-arm walking assistance for any rider who desires it.
Description
Our singular reason for being is to provide rides for seniors and vision impaired adults. However, along the way we provide a welcomed break to the social isolation that happens when one is no longer able to drive themselves. Our drivers are the key to a ride that is dignified, simple, and pleasant. One ride given is one life enhanced.
