Give back to those that give their time... nurture the Volunteer team by focusing on their care.
A major focus of this Volunteer Coordinator Aide position is reaching out to existing Volunteers, making sure they have answers to their questions, are having a positive experience and/or learning why they may not be volunteering any longer. We want to make sure they are nurtured, heard and encouraged.
You will receive "on the job" training from the Volunteer Coordinator, possibly working beside the Volunteer Mentor and Recruiter. Any resources you need to be successful will be provided to you. You may call or email new Volunteers, so being comfortable speaking (and writing) to people will be an important skill.
In this role, you will need to maintain confidentiality, be detailed and organized. The position is flexible, but consistency in reaching out to the Volunteer base is a must. Interested individuals must be outgoing and able to communicate easily with a variety of people.
Thank you for considering this very important role!

Description
Since 1939, Santa Fe Animal Shelter has been dedicated to its mission to support animals, save lives, and spread compassion.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our federal tax ID # is 85-6000484.
Santa Fe Animal Shelter focuses on accessible spay and neuter programs in an effort to beat animal population at its core. Creative adoption efforts and dozens of programs provide support for marginalized animals and work to place homeless animals into loving families.
Thanks to a partnership with the City of Santa Fe and the Bureau of Land Management, the main shelter is housed on a 100-acre campus complete with walking trails and play yards for daily enrichment for our Shelter residents, as well as single and multi-use public dog parks.
Come visit our facilities to experience how Santa Fe cares for its animals. The shelter is not just a place to adopt an animal or to find a missing one, but a place to visit over and over again. This is your shelter, built by this community - a place to find joy with companions.
