Cultivate the team that enriches the lives of Shelter pets.

As a Volunteer Recruiter, you will reach out to people, seeking new help using or to established Volunteers for certain positions. You will use various tools, including social media, outreach events and word of mouth. You will be given "on the job" training by the Volunteer Coordinator, and be given access to many resources, including training documents, web-links and mobile technology.

Another focus will be on helping to grow the Community Service Program for adults and teens through various churches, school and court-related programs. These are the Volunteers that help perform essential cleaning and foundational tasks for the Shelter, freeing up time for the Animal Care team to serve the Shelter pets.

In this position, you will need to maintain confidentiality, be detailed and organized. The position is flexible, but consistency in reaching out to the community is a must. Interested individuals must be outgoing and able to communicate easily with a variety of people.

Mission Statement

Since 1939, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter has been dedicated to its mission: support animals, save lives, spread compassion.

Description

Since 1939, Santa Fe Animal Shelter has been dedicated to its mission to support animals, save lives, and spread compassion.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our federal tax ID # is 85-6000484.

Santa Fe Animal Shelter focuses on accessible spay and neuter programs in an effort to beat animal population at its core. Creative adoption efforts and dozens of programs provide support for marginalized animals and work to place homeless animals into loving families.

Thanks to a partnership with the City of Santa Fe and the Bureau of Land Management, the main shelter is housed on a 100-acre campus complete with walking trails and play yards for daily enrichment for our Shelter residents, as well as single and multi-use public dog parks.

Come visit our facilities to experience how Santa Fe cares for its animals. The shelter is not just a place to adopt an animal or to find a missing one, but a place to visit over and over again. This is your shelter, built by this community - a place to find joy with companions.
