Volunteers are needed to assist with Susan G. Komen's community outreach and breast health education activities throughout Orange County. Activities include breast cancer awareness events, community health fairs, and Race for the Cure promotional activities. Volunteers must and must possess excellent communication skills, be outgoing and love interacting with people. Spanish and other language skills are needed. Outreach activities occur 7 days a week and there are opportunities for day and evening involvement. Volunteers must hold a current drivers’ license and transportation. Orientation and training regarding breast health promotion will be provided to all outreach volunteers.

Description
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Race for the Cure, we have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. The Komen Orange County Affiliate has been making strides in our community since 1991. The Affiliate is proud to have raised nearly $15 million on behalf of the Komen promise.
