Imagine an Indiana organization who is 100% volunteer ... is extraordinarily local .. where volunteers work whenever they wish, utilizing their special talents like publicity or development or driving or WHATEVER.... and over the past 15 years, this organization has distributed over 310,000 pairs of quality used shoes to those in need, locally, nationally, and internationally. Yet you've never heard of them.
Imagine that they disributed 74,000 pairs of shoes in 2019 alone, at an average cost of 16 cents per pair....
Imagine that they have collected these shoes through more than 200 organizations, had them sorted and prepared by more than 15,000 volunteers across 15 years, and distributed to those in need by more than 180 agencies and organizations. And during that time, never pursued donations. Even when the Indianapolis Star, Southside Times, Northside Topics, and Rushville Republican (newspaper) have all done articles on them.
Talk about low-hanging fruit.
Well, it's time to harvest. We, Changing Footprints, need to raise $10,000 per year to support our new Beech Grove sorting facility, We are looking for someone with experience* in development or grant writing that would like to make a difference by reaching out to funding sources and telling our story. Like all of us in Changing Footprints, it would be 100% volunteer... on your own schedule... with flexibility to choose how to approach it... spending 1 hour/month or 1 hour a day or whatever time you wished to contribute. *And if you don't have experience in fundraising, but are motivated to give it a shot, lets do it!

Mission Statement
Changing Footprints realizes the great need for shoes around the world as protection from diseases and a gateway to education. Because of that need we collect new and gently used shoes for distribution to homeless, disaster-stricken, or underprivileged people locally, nationally, and internationally regardless of race, religion, gender, or ethnicity.
Description
Changing Footprints collects used shoes from a variety of sources: collection bins at shoe stores and churches, shoe drives by schools, churches, civic and governmental agencies, and donations of customer returns by shoe companies. We sort, classify by type, and quality check, and then provide the right type of shoes at no charge to agencies, individuals, and organizations who put them on the feet of those in need. We are a 100% volunteer organization with no paid staff and provide 15,000 pair of shoes per year to those in need, locally, in the US, and to international destinations. This diverts shoes otherwise destined for landfills to a important cause, educates our youth that they can make a personal difference, helps those in need, as well as those that volunteer their time, effort, and ideas. We are a flat organization that supports any volunteer with an idea they would like to try - in the words of our youth, "it's all good".
