Lutheran Hospice of the Lowcountry is asking for donations to make something called 'Fidget Blankets'. Volunteers make these blankets to provide comfort for some hospital patients.
They're lap-sized blankets that have items like buttons, zipper and Velcro for patients to fidget with. The hospital says they help patients specifically with Alzheimer's, dementia or Autism.
Lutheran Hospice is asking people to donate things to put on the blankets.

Description
Whatever your unique gift, talent, or passion there is an opportunity for you to join the Lutheran Hospice team. Our Direct Patient Care volunteers help patients to live their life to the fullest during their final days, while also providing support to the patient's loved ones.
Administrative volunteers help by answering the phone, filing, copying, preparing our admission packets and helping with mailouts. Special Services volunteers do not have direct patient contact but can provide handmade items such as quilts, lap blankets, and toiletry kits for our patients. Birthday cards and cakes also add an element of joy to a patient's life.Bereavement volunteers help families and caregivers continue on with life following the death of a loved one. This may be through visits or phone calls. Professional volunteers such as massage therapists, dieticians, hairdressers, etc. are also welcome to volunteer their services. Pet Peace of Mind volunteers help hospice patients care for their pets. Our newest partnership and volunteer program is "We Honor Veterans." Hospice patients who are veterans are honored with pins, flags and certificates, all through the year for their faithful and unselfish service and sacrafice to our country.
If your heart is calling you to help, we will find the right place for you on our team at Lutheran Hospice
