The need has not gone away. We have a waiting list of people needing your help! Grocery/errand shopper volunteers are needed.
Close your eyes. Imagine how you would shop for groceries or run errands if you lost your vision. You can help people who are blind or visually impaired maintain their independence. Become a Volunteer Shopper with Vision Loss Resources! As a Volunteer Shopper for a person with vision loss, you will provide transportation to the grocery store or other stores and shop for them or help them select items.
This is a rewarding way to make a big difference. Scheduling is flexible. Mileage reimbursement is available. Clients live throughout the metro area, so we'll work with you to find a client near you. Time commitment is approximately 2-4 hours per month.
We’ll provide orientation, training, and the ongoing support you need. We reimburse our volunteers a set amount per mile that you drive with a client.
Volunteers must be over the age of 18 or accompanied by someone over the age of 18, pass a criminal background check and meet our insurance guidelines.
