VOLUNTEER REQUEST CURRENTLY ON HOLD DUE TO CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SHELTER IN PLACE ORDER
WILL RESUME ONCE THE ORDER IS LIFTED

The San Pablo Historical and Museum Society is looking for volunteers to assist in a number of tasks, including documenting and digitizing the society's historical archive with the app Catologit, preparing and arranging exhibits for the Blume House and the Alvarado Museum, developing teaching aids and doing outreach for the local schools, conducting tours of the Blume House and the Alvarado Museum, and various maintenance and administrative tasks. We also have work-at-home opportunities assisting with our newly acquired Google Workspace for Non-Profits account (formally called G-Suite) and Website design. We also have video equipment for the making historical and educational short films. We are dedicated to working to develop tasks and schedules that fit with volunteers desires.

Mission Statement

The San Pablo Historical & Museum Society is an organization that was formed in 1970 in order to gather and preserve information and materials pertaining to the history of San Pablo.

Description

he objectives of the Society shall be the discovery, preservation, and dissemination of knowledge concerning the history of San Pablo . More particularly its objectives shall be:
1. To discover and collect any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of San Pablo.
2. To provide for the preservation of such materials and to make it accessible for examination and study . To encourage archaeological investigations of aboriginal or pioneer sites in the locality, and to bring about the preservation of historic buildings, monuments, markers, and artifacts.
3. To disseminate historical information and arouse interest in the past by meetings with addresses, lectures, papers, and discussion, by promoting interest in historical subjects in the schools, and by
preserving information regarding historical buildings, sites and trails .
4 . To sponsor docent training programs.
