PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Queens Public Library is seeking volunteers to serve as Census 2020 Online Ambassadors. Online Ambassadors are tasked with spreading the word about the Census to family and friends and encouraging them to complete the survey.

Receive training to learn the facts and provide your networks with accurate information about the survey--what it asks, who is eligible to participate; and how personal data is protected.

Specific duties:

  • Conduct an Outreach Tree - contact a minimum of five (5) people per week to determine who has complete the Census survey

  • Answer any questions about the survey and refer others to available resources

  • Track your outreach on a weekly basis

  • Attend a weekly meeting to share feedback and stay updated about Census-related news and activities

REQUIREMENTS
  • 16 years and older

  • Attend two 90-minute trainings

  • Comfortable using digital technology possess access to the internet

  • Available through June 30th

  • Must complete an online training session and readiness quiz prior to start

  • Welcome New Americans, helping them learn English and prepare them to become citizens...and more!
