Giving as little as one or two hours a week can make a huge difference for a hospice patient and their family.
WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospice is seeking volunteers to assist our hospice patients and their families. Volunteers can specify the amount of time, the time of day and the type of volunteering they wish to provide.
The wide variety of tasks that a volunteer can choose to do include: providing comfort through singing or playing a musical instrument for the patient; licensed beautician willing to provide our patients with a haircut in patient’s home; sitting with the patient to give the family or caregiver a break; providing companionship for the patient; assisting with light housekeeping or light meal preparation; running errands for the family; or sitting in vigil with a patient who is in the transition.
