Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics affects everyday life and this expo will prove it! At this event, girls will explore the world of STEM with hands on activities and demonstrations with professionals from the community. Join Girl Scouts in the STEM Center + MakerSpace and encourage girls through a variety of cooperative learning opportunities and hands-on experimentation as they learn about STEM.

We are seeking adult volunteers to help with check-in, set-up/clean up, monitoring event activities and coordinating event evaluations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children ages 5-18, helpful but not necessary
  • Can lift a minimum of 10 pounds (volunteers will be moving tables and chairs)
  • Punctual, dependable, enthusiastic, flexible and positive attitude

Responsibilities:

General event support, including:

  • Monitor STEM & Maker activities for girls ages 5-18
  • Help with event set-up/clean-up
  • Welcome girls at the check-in area
  • Replenish supplies throughout the day
  • Pass out snacks and water to girls and their families

  • Have fun while providing educational enrichment for girls
  • Develop child and interpersonal communication skills
  • Students: This position is eligible for community service hours (Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.)
