Emergency Management volunteers will collaborates with government partners to develop and implement strategies to enable an effective and efficient community response during a disaster while adhering to the principles of the Red Cross.
This position supports the overall execution of the Emergency Management (EM) program within the Region including:
1. Support the CP/EM program, ensuring current EM doctrine and guidance is observed
2. Ensure effective planning for EM operations
3. Ensure adequate training for EM operations
4. Ensure appropriate partnerships are established and relationships managed to address regional needs for planning, coordination of operational plans with partners and managing expectations around Red Cross capability, capacity and reporting
5. Ensure adequate reporting systems to ensure Red Cross leadership is informed about EM plans, activities; situational awareness maintained
6. Build EM capacity and capability through partnership, recruitment, training and mentoring
7. Serve as subject matter expert regarding EM program guidance and tools
