ORGANIZATION: HOPE COMMUNITIES INC

Part of Hope Communities' mission is to help provide resources to the communities we serve. Hope Communities has partnered with Food Bank of the Rockies to help aid in the food disparity our communities face.

We need volunteers on Wednesdays at noon (10:00 am on the first Wednesday of the month) to assist Hope Communities by picking up donated items from the Food Bank of the Rockies and delivering those items to our Hidden Brook property. The volunteers' form of transportation must be able to haul 300-700 pounds of food.

The Food Bank of the Rockies location is: 10700 E 45th Ave, Denver 80239
Hidden Brook Apartment location is: 1313 Xenia Street, Denver 80220

Description

Hope Communities was founded in 1980 by a group of citizens concerned about the lack of decent, affordable housing in Denver. Beginning in the historic Five Points neighborhood, Hope Communities operated a single building of rental units that Denver families and individuals could afford; almost thiry years later, the organization's geographic focus has expanded to include the entire Metro Denver area, at a time where affordable housing has only become more critical.

In addition to rental housing, Hope Communities also offers an array of programs and services designed to empower residents and build community. These include adult education, youth education, health and wellness programs, case management, and events to engage the entire community.
