Brighton Hospice is currently looking for volunteers in the Indianapolis area to spend time with our patients and families. Some of the activities a volunteer may participate in include, but are not limited to: being a comforting and supportive presence, holding a hand, baking a cake, listening to cherished memories, giving a hug, being a shoulder to lean on, touching a heart, baking treats, reminiscing with patients, playing board or card games, discussing current events, encouraging patient to tell his/her life story and recording it on paper or recorder, allowing time for caregivers to take care of themselves, playing music, helping take care of pets, writing notes and memories for patient, sewing or knitting together, reading aloud, writing letters, arts and crafts, scrapbooking, journaling patient's past experiences, etc.
In accordance with the Federal Mandate. volunteers must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption in order to volunteer. Proof of vaccination must be shown during the on-boarding process.

Description
Brighton Hospice originated in 2012 in Utah and has spread to several other states including Minnesota, Oregon, Nevada and as of 2019 has come to Wisconsin and Indiana. Brighton Hospice is designed to provide comfort and support to patients, so they may live out the last phase of their lives with dignity in a familiar setting. The goal of hospice care is to improve the quality of a patient’s last months by offering comfort, dignity and care in a familiar setting, whether that be in the patient’s own home, Assisted Living, or Skilled Nursing Facility. Brighton Hospice recognizes that the dying process is a part of the normal process of living and focuses on enhancing the quality of remaining life. Our team is made up of our Administrator, Director of Clinical Services, Medical Director, Nurse Case Managers, Hospice Aides, Social Worker, Chaplain and an excellent support team. Brighton Hospice will provide you and your family with the quality care you deserve.
