The Veteran-to-Veteran Program aims to pair recruited Veteran Volunteers with Veteran Hospice Patients. Veterans are a part of a distinct culture with their own language, codes of conduct, honor, respect for service, duty, and commitment. When Veterans interact, their common language and experiences can form a strong relational bond.
Examples of direct patient support may include: Reading or sitting with a patient Reminiscing/telling life stories Writing letters/journaling Taking part in Veteran recognition ceremonies
