A Native American and Multicultural Celebration

The 18th Annual DRUMS ALONG THE HUDSON(r): A Native American and Multicultural Celebration will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2020 in Upper Manhattan’s Inwood Hill Park from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm, rain or shine. This event is free to the public and is presented by Lotus Music & Dance in collaboration with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, sponsored in part by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the New York City Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez. The host for the event will be Sandra Bookman, weekend anchor for WABC-TV and host of "Here and Now". The afternoon host will be Patrick Riley Pop Culture Expert/Blogger. During the day, we take time to honor individuals and organizations for their contributions to environmental and humanitarian causes.

A FREE family oriented event, presented in an open air festival setting, DRUMS ALONG THE HUDSON: A NATIVE AMERICAN FESTIVAL provides a unique opportunity for the NY metro audience to experience Native American traditions, values, history and contributions to New York. The event includes the performance of authentic Native American drumming and social, unity, and fancy dances, Native American craft demonstrations, storytelling, crafts and food vendors. This year, as the drum is the heartbeat of the earth, the festival will include a presentation of traditional dance and percussive music performances from around the world. DRUMS ALONG THE HUDSON includes the ceremonial planting of a white pine tree, a symbol of peace for the Iroquois Nation.
