SPCA Tampa Bay's Pet Walk is taking place Saturday April 18 at Albert Whitted Park in downtown St. Pete. It’s more than just a walk, it’s a community party that raises critical funds for pets and other animals! What can you look forward to at Pet Walk? For starters - LOTS of dogs!

  • A beautiful 3K walk along the water
  • Activities for individuals, families and their pets
  • Our annual pet costume contest
  • Food
  • Adoptable pets
  • Vendors and more

Volunteers play a critical role in the success of our event. We appreciate your willingness to give of your time and talents to support us and we aim to make sure your volunteer experience is fun and fulfilling.

When you register to volunteer, you will be able to choose your preference from the following volunteer opportunities:

  • ​Vendor and/or Volunteer Check-In
  • Registration
  • Photographer
  • Costume Contest
  • Pet Minder (Restroom area)

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Volunteers under 18 may sign up with a parent or guardian
  • Must be personable, enjoying talking to people, and have an upbeat personality
  • Availability on Saturday April 18, 2020
  • Comfortable around all size canines with different energy levels

Training:

  • Complete telephone meet and greet with Volunteer Program Manager
  • Complete onsite training as needed

Time Commitment:

  • Commit to a 4 hour shift between 6am-12pm on Sat. April 18
  • Shift time varies by assignment

Description

SPCA Tampa Bay is the only non-profit, animal welfare agency that runs an open-admission animal shelter, pet training facility and public veterinary center in Pinellas County. Our shelter in Largo cares for more than 8,000 animals annually that have been surrendered by their owners, along with injured wildlife. SPCA Tampa Bay cares for dogs, cats, pocket pets, exotic animals, and livestock like goats and pigs. Animals receive immunizations, medical care, behavior training and enrichment, and loving care while they live at our shelter.
