ALL VOLUNTEER VISITS WITH OUR RESIDENTS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED DUE TO SHELTER IN PLACE ORDER BY STATE OF OHIO. ONCE SHELTER IN PLACE ORDER IS LIFTED; VOLUNTEER INTERVIEWS AND ONBOARDING WILL BEGIN AGAIN. PLEASE COME BACK AND VISIT AGAIN WHEN ORDER IS LIFTED. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SENDING OUR RESIDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITIES LETTERS/CARDS, PLEASE CONTACT ME AND I CAN PROVIDE YOU INFORMATION TO GET YOU STARTED. OUR RESIDENTS ARE LONELY AND ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF LOVE THROUGH CARDS/LETTERS. YOU CAN STILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND THIS COULD BE A GREAT FAMILY ACTIVITY!!! At Brookdale Hospice we provide compassion, friendship and entertainment for our patients in Hospice. We have buildings (Senior Living Communities) in Finneytown (9101 Winton Road), Kenwood (9090 Montgomery Road) and Springdale (11320 Springfield Pike). We also have home patients.
Our residents range in age from 70-105! Most of our patients have Alzheimer's so even though they are confused, they can sing a long with you to their favorite songs! It is the highlight of their day to hear music. they love to tell their stories and they love to hear songs from their past. What joy you can bring to the life of someone who is lonely and afraid.
There is NO schedule. You volunteer when it is most convenient for you. Do you have an hour or two a week to bring joy to a Senior?
We do require fingerprints and urine drug screen; but WE pay for everything!
