Seeking a young adult volunteer group (ages 14-22) for an ongoing "reverse inclusion" project at our private nonprofit school for students with special needs. Volunteers will be matched with a student peer and simply spend some time with them. We have about 15 peer students who go to community outings doing volunteer work and learning life and leisure skills. We also hold quarterly Special Olympics events where volunteers can cheer them on. There are many opportunities the school can provide for volunteers to mentor their peers, even at vocational workshops.
If you have a large group that fits our criteria that may be interested in meeting and collaborating on plans and a schedule, please email Sabrena Snow at sabrena.snow@mainspringacademy.org so we can set up a meeting!
Groups only, please! We are looking for a group that might be interested in making this a project that will be around for good between our organizations!

Mainspring Academy is a K-12 private, nonprofit school for students with special needs and learning differences in the Southside Jacksonville area, with focus on vocational learning, academics, and life skills.
