During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Helping Paws is a non-profit in Hopkins, MN that raises and trains service dogs for individuals with physical disabilities, and veterans and first responders affected by PTSD.
Our volunteer dog trainers (Foster Home Trainers) take puppies from our breeding program into their homes for 2.5 years while attending weekly dog training classes. You do not need to have prior dog training experience; we provide all the dog training for free.
Once your foster dog completes their service dog training, they go on to become a service dog for one of our applicants in need. Our volunteer dog trainers are giving someone a life-changing gift!

Helping Paws' mission is to further people's independence and quality of life through the use of Assistance Dogs.
Helping Paws dogs live in a home environment for more than two years before being matched with an individual with a physical disability, veteran with PTSD, or first responder with PTSD. Dogs and their foster home trainers attend weekly training classes and work daily to build the dogs' skills.
We'll work with your schedule.
