Our "Better Futures for Idaho Youth" project encompasses VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) positions at eight nonprofits in Coeur d’Alene and throughout the state. As a VISTA, you will work to build the capacity of an organization to improve outcomes in early childhood education, K-12 schools, and college entrance. If you are up to the challenge, a VISTA year is an excellent way to accrue valuable job experience while giving back to the community. Openings in

  • Coeur d'Alene: United Way of North Idaho, Children's Village, Human Rights Education Institute, Coeur d'Alene School District
  • Moscow: Family Promise of the Palouse
  • Pocatello: United Way of Southeastern Idaho
  • Idaho Falls: United Way of Idaho Falls and Bonneville County

The AmeriCorps VISTA program works to end poverty in our country. VISTA members serve one-year, full-time terms and receive a living allowance of $12,490 per year, a $6,195 education award, as well as health and childcare benefits.
