Reporting to the Board of Avyanna Inc, the Women’s Program Director is responsible for overseeing program, creating classes that will serve the development, while still meeting the financial and learning objectives to ensure success. Working closely with the Executive Director, VP, Financial Director and on the budget, fundamentals and expansion of the program. Avyanna creates an environment of dignity, respect and compassion. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of volunteer management including recruitment, training, scheduling, and support, including ensuring all volunteer security clearances are complete and up-to-date
- Maintain and coordinate registration and volunteer databases
- Work directly with Executive Director, VP and Treasurer to identify and prioritize opportunities and risks associated with projects and initiatives
- Track program milestones and adjust program plans and/or resources to meet needs
- Evaluate program progress and results; report them to Executive Director, VP and Treasurer, ensuring that changes to scope, budget, resources and risks are communicated in a timely way.
- Maintains written and oral communication of incidents in accordance with policies
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years (preferred) experience in Human Service field or related experience in the following listed:
- Domestic violence
- Women experiencing homelessness
- Mental health related issues
- Substance abuse
- Populations living in poverty
- Strong leadership skills
- Effective partnership cultivation and time-management skills
- Strategic, innovative, and visionary thinker
- Strong interpersonal and public engagement and speaking skills

Avyanna Inc is a non-profit organization, based in Milwaukee WI. Our mission is empowering the lives of victims and children of domestic violence by providing resources for professional development and support in areas that impact mental health and everyday living. We will be offering a 12-month program to victims who are currently involved with the Milwaukee County Court. Our program is designed to develop skills through classes provided by local businesses within our community.
Avyanna’s Program
Profession Development: Resume Building, Interview Preparation, Creation of online profile through our secure website for job posting and Professional Attire provided to our clients.
Financial Coaching: Creating and maintaining budgets, Filing Taxes and W2’s, Overcoming Debt and Information on personal/business loans and mortgages.
Support Groups: Life Skills, Social Skills, Emotional Wellness, Relationship Boundaries, Healthy Relationships with Peers, Red Flags, Depression & Anxiety, PTSD, Drug & Alcohol.
Classes: Cooking (nutritional, budget and time friendly), Self Defense, Basic Auto Mechanics, Interior DIY design/remodeling, Various job skill development classes, Yoga, Meditation and Art.
To get our program started, we are seeking donors to help us reach our target goal of $30,000, to lease office space.
