We are looking for a compassionate, friendly, and organized volunteer to help with our Thursday morning grocery shopping trips (9:30am-12pm).
Shopping van volunteers meet here at the Weston COA around 9am and ride in our 14-passenger van with the driver to pick shoppers up at their homes around Weston.
Volunteers are indispensable on these grocery shopping trips, as they enable seniors in the community to function independently. You will be asked to keep an eye on shoppers during the trip, as some people may need assistance (lifting, ordering at the deli, pushing a cart), then make sure everyone is ready to check out in a timely manner to board the bus!
The volunteer for this role must be able to help participants with pushing a heavy cart and carry full grocery bags onto the bus and then sometimes up to the participants’ front doors when they get dropped off.
This is an incredibly rewarding (and fun) volunteer experience for someone looking to make a difference. Frequency of volunteerism for this role is flexible!
