DMI is an international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty around the world, our unique role in international development is to place committed volunteers with carefully selected organisations where their skills can have the greatest impact. Our extraordinary volunteers live and work in some of the world's poorest communities. Sharing their unique skills and experience to generate new ideas and new ways of doing things, helping the communities they work in lift themselves out of poverty. We're not about delivering quick fixes, but instead we focus on long-lasting, sustainable change, that will impact generations to come. Our Mission has been to empower men and women in developing nations to fight hunger and poverty by teaching them how to fish and not fish for them! It is our understanding and belief that the best way to end hunger and poverty is to bring opportunities to those who have been cripples by them so they can lift themselves out. We're not about delivering quick fixes, but instead we focus on long-lasting, sustainable change, that will impact generations to come. Description
DMI is an international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty around the world, our unique role in international development is to place committed volunteers with carefully selected organisations where their skills can have the greatest impact. The answers to poverty, inequality and discrimination are already out there. We unlock the potential in others - the people who have the power to transform their own lives. What's more, when they pass their training on, its impact will grow and grow. Together, they will change the world for the better. The extraordinary volunteers live and work in some of the world's poorest communities. Sharing their unique skills and experience to generate new ideas and new ways of doing things, helping the communities they work in lift themselves out of poverty.
We teach them how to fish and not fish for them! The first way we do that is by providing tools and resources to change their mindset that they don't have to be poor, broken, and uneducated because generations before lived a life of poverty and brokenness. The second way of helping them is by supplying small business loan to start their own business creating real and lasting change in their lives, families, and communities.
