We are looking for Veteran Volunteers to provide companionship to our Veteran Hospice patients. The Veteran Volunteer will visit the patient where ever they reside, a nursing home, assisted living or private residence to offer companionship to them thru a Vet to Vet relationship. We also have Veteran Volunteers also assist our staff in Veteran Pinning and Quilt of Valor presentations to our Veteran Patients. Volunteers do need to complete a background check, a drug test and TB test, no charge to the volunteer. Also required to attend training class prior to beginning.

Description
Hospice is a program of palliative care and supportive services for terminally ill patients and their families. An interdisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, home health aides, chaplains, therapists and volunteers work together to provide individualized services. All team members are trained in pain and symptom management and in providing emotional support to the patient and family.
