ORGANIZATION: Grane Hospice Care

Grane is recruiting volunteers to be companions for hospice patients in their home. Companions provide comfort through reading to the patient, talking with patient sharing stories and listening to their stories. Companions can assist patient with simple activities such as; painting, coloring, arts and crafts or simply just being in their presence so they know they are not alone. If you want to make a difference in someone's life, please email me with interest.

We are always looking for Patients in Several Counties. This particular Volunteer Opportunity is in Phoenixville, PA Chester County.

Description

A higher level of Hospice

Grane Hospice provides a Higher Level of hospice care through a low patient to nurse ratio, allowing for more care time whenever needed. Our aides provide additional personal care through bathing, feeding and dressing assistance. Our volunteers are also available for visits, errands and companionship.

Your Spiritual Connection

If you have a spiritual affiliation, with your permission, we will contact your minister to advise him or her that you are in our care. We will also invite your minister to communicate with our Interdisciplinary Team so that mutually, we can best serve your needs.

Our Ministers Will

  • Provide a listening ear when you are worried, afraid, or just need to talk
  • Address spiritual concerns
  • Pray with you, read Scripture, or just sit quietly
  • Provide or arrange for Christian sacraments or other religious rites
  • Conduct funeral or memorial services
