Sojourn's 40 hour domestic violence counselor training program is starting again this Spring on Tuesday, April 7th.

All interested individuals must attend a mandatory 40-hour domestic violence counselor training program mandated by California Evidence Code 1037.1. Trainings are held in the Spring and Fall. After you have attended all training sessions and volunteered with our organization for 6 months, you will receive a certificate of achievement which will indicate completion of your training.

Sojourn’s 40-hour training will cover everything from crisis intervention and peer counseling skills to legal and social service resources, with help from experts in their respective fields. If you are not interested in volunteering with Sojourn but wish to further your education on domestic violence, you can attend the training for a fee of $250.00.
