Disasters occur every day, reminding us how vulnerable we can be. From home fires to hurricanes, disasters strip people of their essential needs and devastate communities.
Today, more than ever, the American Red Cross is giving response to any disaster or need that the community has. Safety of our staff and volunteers is our priority as well as helping the community is.
If you feel healthy and would like to donor some of your valuable time, this is your opportunity!
A Disaster Action Team Member respond locally to disasters, mainly home fires, day or night. DAT members meet with family members to determine their immediate disaster-caused needs.
Those needs can include shelter, food, a change of clothes, medicine replacements and comfort.
Ideal members will:
- Be comfortable with online trainings
- Be Looking to increase readiness within your community
- Be willing to support local and large-scale disasters
- Desire to set a weekly shift
