We are in urgent need of a foster home for one of our dogs named Jasper! He's a beautiful Flat Coated Retriever who weighs 85 pounds and has tons of energy. He needs a home with no other dogs, cats, or young children - he needs lots of land or lots of exercise! He's a wonderful dog, but he's just not doing well at our shelter shut up in a run all the time.

If you have space in your home for at least a small period of time, we would love to talk with you about fostering him!! Thank you so much.

Time commitment: If you can only foster for a few weeks, we can even work with that! However, we ask that you try your best to keep him until he's found a home. Retrievers like him usually find homes quickly.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to protect and help dogs and cats from homelessness neglect, abuse, cruelty and abandonment. VIDA does not belong to any one person but instead to all of its volunteers. We adopt out about 50-60 cats and dogs per month - we rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, low income neighborhoods, and from the streets of Mexico. We also have spay and neuter operations and have saved thousands of animals already. www.vida4animals.org www.instagram.com/vidarescue www.facebook.com/vidarescue

Description

Volunteers in Defense of Animals is a non-profit organization working to end the suffering and mistreatment of dogs and cats in Southern California. We bring spay and neuter services to areas where families cannot afford them; we facilitate the rescue, foster care, and adoption of animals whenever possible, and we offer education and support to those involved in the care of animals.

We have found forever homes for hundreds of dogs and cats, with around 4-5 new adoptions taking place each week. Many of our dogs come from local high-kill shelters before they are euthanized and on the streets of both the US and Mexico. We also have spay/neuter operations in low-income neighborhoods in the US and in Mexico and have spayed/neutered thousands of pets.
