As the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic grows, the American Red Cross continues to work closely with public health officials to deliver our lifesaving mission where and when it’s safe to do so. To protect everyone’s safety, we have postponed all Sound the Alarm events until further notice. Home fires are the most frequent disaster, claiming seven lives every day. But having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half. That's why we're rallying 27,000 to install 100,000 free smoke alarms nationwide during Sound the Alarm events. One day of your life can change someone’s forever.
Volunteers are needed to install smoke alarms, document information, and educate families about fire safety in at risk neighborhoods. Breakfast, lunch, and training is provided on the day of the event.
- Individuals and groups are welcome to participate either day!
- Ages 13-17 must have a registered chaperone
