Ecosystem Liaison
Community Team
Our job is to show the world what the San Diego tech community has to offer-we connect, we educate, we inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs. We approach community-building in an organic, grassroots fashion, leveraging existing contacts and established organizations to spread the word about our mission.
Role
As the Ecosystem Liaison, you will be responsible for managing the relationships between Startup San Diego and the entrepreneurial ecosystem organizations, leveraging existing contacts and forging new connections to engage ecosystem partners with our organization. You will work closely with the Director of Community on these tasks and others as assigned by your Director.
Responsibilities
- Work with Executive Director and Director of Community to support in the organization of quarterly Startup San Diego Regional Startup Coalition meetings as well as execution of deliverables/projects associated with the coalition.
- Establish and expand relationships with ecosystem organizations via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
- Develop and manage a communications pipeline between the Programs team and ecosystem organizations, in accordance with event timelines.
- Work with the Director of Community and the Executive Director to formalize annual partnerships with ecosystem organizations to further the mission of our organization.
- Ensure that key deliverables are provided to our ecosystem partners in a timely manner.
- Represent Startup San Diego at ecosystem events to enhance our connection to the entrepreneurial community.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in managing sales processes and accounts.
- Ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Hubspot or another modern CRM.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to commit to 5 - 10 hrs/week for a one-year term.
Preferred Qualifications & Qualities
- Experience with event planning.
- Experience with community building, ideally in the startup space.
- Account management experience.
- A "no-ego," collaborative doer.
- Anchored in supporting and growing the entrepreneurial community in San Diego.
