Time to start planning for the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Knoxville - and time to convene our Planning Committee! This group of dedicated volunteers is at the heart of every Walk to End Alzheimer’s event. The Planning Committee works together to develop and grow the event - advancing the fight against Alzheimer’s from the ground up. Right now, we’re searching for an outgoing and self-motivated people to serve on the Marketing & Outreach subcommittee.

These are the "Promoter’s" of the Walk Committee! The Marketing and Outreach subcommittee is responsible for creating awareness of the disease through the promotion of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. They will help build public awareness of the Walk through local media outlets and social media, deliver brochures and posters to local businesses and community spaces, and will help to create new grassroots marketing opportunities.

Those on this committee should have a knowledge of local media outlets, excellent oral and written communication and creative thinking skills.

The Alzheimer's Association Tennessee Chapter has offices in these cities; Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Memphis. We have a team of volunteers across the state leading the way in program delivery, fundraising and advocacy.

Most volunteer opportunities can be done from your own home during your own selected hours.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18
  • The person selected for this position must serve through the end of 2021. The time commitment includes preparing for and attending monthly committee meetings and ongoing community outreach.
  • Committee meetings will be online via phone/video. Members will communicate via phone, email and text. Volunteers will be required to follow organization COVID protocols when representing the association.
