ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army - San Jose, CA

Re-stock food pantry, limited amount of packing food into grocery bags, distribute food using "client choice" model to people in need and clean in and around food pantry area.

Can use 3 volunteers morning shift 8am, 8:30am or 9am -12noon, Tuesdays, Wednesday & Fridays.
Can use 3 volunteers afternoon shift 1pm-3pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays.

Can use 2 volunteer morning and/or afternoon shift Thursdays only.

Minimum Age: 13 must be accompanied by volunteer parent/guardian, ages 14+ in High School can volunteer w/o parent.

Required: Volunteer Statement, ID and orientation (about 20 minutes) needed.

2 Shifts

  • morning / 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM
    Review age requirements. Confirmation of Participation by Volunteer Coordinator needed. Waivers required. Can also start at 8am or 8:30am.
  • afternoon / 12:45 PM to 03:00 PM
    Review age requirements. Confirmation of participation by Volunteer Coordinator. Waivers needed.
