Veteran Visits
ORGANIZATION: ProMedica Heartland Hospice
Please visit the new page to apply.
No one understands the questions and concerns of a military veteran more than a fellow veteran or active duty personnel. That is why Promedica has developed the Vets to Vets Volunteer program to meet with and assist in the care of our veteran patients.
Why are veteran volunteer important to Promedica?
-Veterans share a common language, and code of conduct and honor
-Trust often develops faster between people who have common life experiences
-When one veteran talks to another, stoicism and secrecy may dissolve.
-Sharing supports, life review and healing.
You can help by stopping by and playing a game of cards, sharing a story, or just being a friendly face. We also have veteran recognition activities on Veterans Day and other times that you can be a part of of.
