Join the History Colorado Center volunteer team as a K2H Civic Futures Liaison AmeriCorp member!
AmeriCorps members will work together with our staff teams at the History Colorado Center on both off and on-site educational programming and capacity building. The member will act as the main contact for our Hands on History after-school programs, and will work to recruit new schools and students to the program.
Additional duties could include:
- Work with Classroom Programs Manager to develop content, marketing materials, and external communications.
- Work in tandem with site director to build audience for all programs with a focus on schools, Hands on History, and field-trips
- Assist with research, exhibit design, and daily museum operations
- Research funding opportunities with Philanthropy department for sustainability of programs
- Living stipend of $14,000 over the course of one year of service
- Education award commensurate with the Pell Grant (~$6,000) to be used for current educational expenses, to repay qualified student loans, or to be used within 7 years for educational expenses
- Child care credit for eligible members
- Deferment of existing student loans during the K2H term of service
- Repayment of interest accrued on qualified student loans during the K2H term of service
- Hands-on experience in the field of K-12 education, higher education, civic learning and engagement, community development, and youth development
