Elara Caring, one of the nation’s largest providers of home-based care, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families.
We are looking for individuals and groups to donate items for patients as well as time.
Can you craft? We are looking for donations of generic birthday cards that can be given to out Hospice patients on their birthdays. We also accept donations of craft kits that a volunteer could work on with a patient during a companionship visit.\
Can you knit or sew? Our patients could use any of the following: lap blankets, neck pillows, wheelchair or walker caddies, catheter bags and hand pillows.

Time is limited, yet of eternal value. What makes it so is how you use it and to whom you give it. Share your gift of time with a patient on their end-of-life journey. No special skills are necessary, just a listening ear and an open heart. It will be some of the most rewarding time you’ll ever spend.
Elara Caring Hospice is currently looking for Volunteers: Companion Volunteers, Pet Therapy, Veteran Volunteers, Office Volunteers, and Crafting Volunteers. We have patients in need in outlying areas as well as the Grand Rapids Area. These areas include Grand Rapids, Big Rapids, Wayland/ Hastings, Greenville, Rockford, Holland, and Saugatuck/Douglas.
