ORGANIZATION: Mercer Island Thrift Shop

Youth and Family Services is seeking a volunteer or team of volunteers to work at the Mercer Island Food Pantry located in the Luther Burbank Administration Building. This is a shared work space for the staff of both Youth & Family Services and Parks & Recreation Departments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Stock the food pantry
  • Sort through and process food donations
  • Pick up food drives/donations from Island locations
  • Model and act in accordance with the City of Mercer Island’s mission, vision and values.

Each day food pantry volunteers are responsible for stocking the pantry shelves, checking dates on food donations, stocking and organizing storage areas.

A six-month commitment to a weekly shift is requested. Seeking volunteers for the following weekly shifts: Monday 9am - 10 am, Tuesday 9 am - 10 am, Tuesday 5pm - 6pm, Wednesday 9 am - 10 am, Wednesday 5 pm - 6pm, Thursday 9 am - 10 am and Thursday 5 pm - 6pm.
