Do you have dreams of being a movie star? Do you love movies and film? Are you a film maker who wants to network with industry professionals? Then we have a great volunteer opportunity for you!

Women Plus Film CLE
is a new film festival of films by and about women. This is an unpaid opportunity, but volunteers will receive a VIP Weekend Pass that gives access to all festival events all weekend, including the VIP Hospitality Area. Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to:

  • Set Up/Tear Down Crew: Volunteers are needed to help with set-up and tear-down of the event, including posting special areas, setting up lobby and VIP areas for guests, etc.
  • Front Desk Check-In: Greeting industry VIPs and handing out weekend VIP passes and checking in other attendees each day and ensuring they have purchased the requisite passes. This group will also monitor the "step and repeat" screens where festival attendees will stop and pose for photos.
  • Theater Screening Monitors: Individuals who will greet and organize attendees for entrance to film screenings, and will stay in the theater to monitor the film audience.
  • VIP Restricted Access Monitors: Monitor the entrance to the area to assure access only for VIP weekend pass holders; work with the catering company to ensure food and drink are available and replenished as needed; bus tables as required; be available for questions and help as needed.
  • Floaters: Volunteers who are generally available to monitor the public areas, provide help for VIPs and festival attendees, and relieve staff and other volunteers for breaks as needed.

Description

Greater Heights Institute, Inc. (GHI) is a minority-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the Greater Cleveland area. GHI focuses on providing arts programming to the general public by providing a variety of professional and community events and workshops in film, theater, dance, music, and the visual arts. Most programs take place at Front Stage Theatre & Film Co. in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

Programs include:
Women+Film CLE,

  • a film festival for films by and about women;
  • the Indie FilmShowcase designed to promote independent Films and film makers;
  • Theater production in partnership with Taylor Made Productions;
  • The month-long Juneteenth Festival celebrating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans through film, dance, music, art and theater, including Boogie on the Blacktop with live music, food, and celebration, performances of Lynch: The Trial of Willie Lynch by F.A. Taylor.
