Hopewell Music is looking for a volunteer to answer the door on weekday afternoons and greet students and families coming in for lessons. Shifts are 2-3 hours long. Duties for this volunteer task are listed below.
Duties:
Answering the doorbell
Greeting folks at the door
Directing folks coming in for lessons to Hopewell space
Having a positive and welcoming attitude
Monitoring for security risks
Appropriately responding to any security risks, including asking for staff assistance if needed
Reporting any issues to Outreach Coordinator or on site staff person
All volunteers are required to undergo a background check and a volunteer orientation prior to beginning their volunteer service. Interested volunteers should send an email to wendy@hopewellmusic.com

Hopewell’s mission is to improve access to music education in North Minneapolis through affordable, inclusive, and engaging music programs.
Description
Due to long-standing issues of inequity, North Minneapolis residents have not had the same opportunities in music as those living in more affluent areas. Hopewell Music seeks to empower Northsiders of all backgrounds to express themselves creatively by removing barriers to an education in music. Sliding scale tuition is available for folks on federal or state assistance which removes financial barriers to music lessons, music classes, workshops, and camps. Our music school is also located on the Northside, providing a safe and affordable option for music education right in the neighborhood. In addition, Hopewell offers six ensembles that are free and open to anyone in the Northside community, so North Minneapolis musicians can come to make music with one another.
