The Akron Area YMCA is looking for special individuals to take on the role of Mentor in the after school Youth Development Program. Volunteering as a Mentor is a wonderful opportunity to enrich the lives of children living in our community through an education-based program including nutrition, recipe sampling, reading, physical activity, and other creative activities and games. Mentors volunteer approximately 3 hours each week and are provided with all materials, supplies, and training needed to create fun, positive, life-changing experiences for students. This rewarding opportunity is open to those in high school and beyond. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, punctual, and has a passion for helping children succeed in school and in life. Internships are available.
