Provide, prepare and serve an evening meal for people experiencing hunger and homelessness. Each evening, Sunday through Friday, The Salvation Army serves a nutritious meal to people in the community that are hungry. Your group can reserve an evening to provide, prepare and serve that meal. This opportunity is great for civic clubs, church groups, and family groups that want to help in their community. Even business groups can join in. Description
The Salvation Army Fort Myers Area Command includes many locations offering multiple programs and services. Facilities include a residential shelter, Red Shield Community Resource Center, Outreach Centers in Bonita Springs, LaBelle, and Lehigh Acres, a Worship and Administration center. Programs include a comprehensive care program, family shelter, a correctional services program, a food services program which includes evening meals for the homeless and needy, crisis management for those on the verge of homelessness, an Angel Tree outreach ministry to disadvantaged homes in the area, and more. These social service programs help thousands of people each year and are very rewarding to be involved with.
